School records show that Ballyroebuck School was closed on the following dates in 1947 due to heavy and repeated snow falls:
January 29th until February 3rd
February 6th until February 12th
February 15th
February 22nd until March 7th
Records also show that attendance at school for other days in that school term was very irregular. The principal teacher Mr Kenny mentioned snow, bad weather and heavy rain being the reason for poor attendance right up to April 1947.
The school is called St Patricks School.
